Jakarta - Bandung is not 2 hour

150 km tour Jakarta to Bandung.

Since Jakarta have toll road to Bandung, many travelers came to Bandung, they think from Jakarta to Bandung is very close about 2 hours drive, its funny, because the distance is more than 150 km from Jakarta international airport to Bandung city, this is real information for all travelers who come from asia or eroupe, ok the distance is 150 km but the time is not 2 hours or even 3 hours, why.??? Because the traffic in Jakarta highway.!!! My exeperience is max 4.5 hour drive from bandung to Jakarta or back. Thats after rush hour, in rush hour around 06.00 am - 10.00 am can be more than 6 hour drive same to if i drive around 15.00 pm - 21.00 pm, to escape from Jakarta highway i need more than 2,5 hour than 2,5 drive from gate cikarang (border Jakarta and west java) to Pasteur Gate (first gate entering Bandung city) from that Gate some time i need more than 35 minute, so...in total drive more less about 6 hour, on the week end more worse mostly in peak season holiday, Bandung is one of famous destination for all travelers from domestic or international.
Solution to reach Bandung city for escape from Jakarta traffic ;
1. Take direct flight from singapore or kualalumpur.
2. Take the train from Gambir (train station in Jakarta) to Bandung.
3. Driver after rush hour or at midnight.
4. If you flight arrive in Jakarta do not in the weekend such friday till sunday. Please take a flight in weekday than to Bandung directly.
5. Do not arrive at Jakarta in rainning season such as desember till february, because Jakarta very crowded and perfectly terible traffic jam, because every where floaded even in the higway.
6. Better visiting Bandung in the weekday, because Bandung always traffic in the weekend. Because many domestic travelers visit Bandung always in the weekend, starting friday night and they back in sunday afternoon.
7. Avoid pasteur (first gate Bandung city) in the weekend, take another gate to entrance Bandung.
8. Book your hotel before stay overnight in Bandung, otherwise if you directly walkinn its quite expensive.
9. Escape from Bandung better friday morning than continue your next destination.
10. Take a sweater or rain coat to visit volcano around Bandung, such as Tangkuban Perahu volcano and Kawah Putih (white crater).
